UFL Book Club – June

The UFL book club has been around for 35 or 36 years, half of the ULF’s existence. We are a group of people from different walks of life. We meet on the third Tuesday of the month at 200 pm. Our May 2023 meeting was on May 16, 200 pm at the UFL. It was our first in-person meeting in a long time.

The book we discussed this May is the non-fiction book ‘Caste, The Origin of Our Discontents.’ by Isabel Wilkerson. Our discussion was thorough but not thorough enough as some members decided to buy the book since they had so many thoughts about it.  As always there were diverse opinions and everyone got a chance to ‘pipe in.’ Our book for June is lighter fare, the novel,  ‘Dear Mrs Bird’ by AJ Pearce.

The book club is planning a Sunday Service for June 11th (The Power of Books), partly based on our March, April, and May books but also bringing in other books. If you are interested in joining our book club please contact Alice Wehlau, the coordinator of the book club. Alice’s contact information is below. We hope to hear from you.
